Hi Ya'll, George and I finished our bike trip (8K miles) to the Oregon Coast & back to Va. Twenty one nights on the road and the night at Gander Inn was the most comfortable in every respect. Many thanks. Billy Roberta Selig 09/08/2010 10:07
This was my first trip to Lewellen. I came up with my mom for a small family reunion. My mom is sometimes hard to please, but Dave won her over with his "out of the way" hospitality and fabulous cooking and Trish with her welcoming personality. I loved the charm of the place and the rooms were so clean and comfortable. I can't wait to come back again and have some more green chili! Thanks for a great weekend! -Seattle-- "Staying for three nights was not long enough as this place really felt like home--except with much better food! Hospitality, food and accommodation--all were far beyond expectations. We couldn't get over their attention to every need--including those of our newborn. The room was comfortable & spacious and the food makes you want to steal Dave, or at least his secret recipes! We ate all of our meals there; his green chili over eggs or burrito is a gustatory delight, herb-stuffed chicken, BBQ ribs and ohhhhh...the Nebraska-grown rib eye was the best our family has ever had! I just checked in on your Website again and picked up on the question of motel, hotel or bed & breakfast. George and I decided after we left you guys, that whatever you think about the building, the stay was more like a stop off to spend the night with some friends. We don't have a conversation about our 8K mile bike trip without telling about our stay aat Gander Inn. Take care. Marc Ford 09/24/2010 20:20
I was in the area on bussiness 2 towns away. i stayed at the best little bed and breakfast i have ever been, i am on the road about 200 days a year. the Gander Inn by far is the homey and inviteing place i have been to. the hospitality is beyond reproach. Dave and Trish think nothing of going out of there way to make you feel at home. If and when i am in the area agin i will be staying again.. i am even thinking about bringingthe whole family (6 in all) just to stay for a nice get away. thanks DAVE and TRISH your B+B is the best. Stayed October 2010-Thanks so much for all the wonderful comforts of home Trish and Dave!! You have done a wonderful job remodeling the main house and the outside guest rooms too. And, of course, Dave rocks in the kitchen! We will definitely recommend you to all our friends. keith mehls colorado 10/30/2010 18:36
I stayed with Dave and Trish at the gander inn for 7 days. I am from Denver and I have eat at the best dining the city has to offer and hands down Dave can cook better then any place I have eat at WITH OUT A DOUT,and for under half the price. Not only that but he was very helpful towards keeping my deer properly kept after my harvest. All I can say is try the Gander inn and will be back again and again. Thanks again Dave and Trish for the friend ship for many years to come. The only problem is you will not want to return home. A+A+A+A+A+ for the Gander inn Scott Curry 01/04/2011 15:35
Just a note to express our appreciation. We are grateful for your fine accomodations, incredible food, and unsurpassed service. Your thoughtfulness towards us at our time of sadness in our lives was most comforting and will remain forever remembered. We wish you much deserved success in all your endeavors. I was just curious if the two of you were still thinking of heading out this way in February. I think Gary could be convinced to fire up the dutch ovens one more time. We did enjoy our stay, and YES i'm very late posting here, but three kids will slow even the strongest man down. I hope your New Year has been filled with wonder and delight. We will be looking you folks up again, the next time we're working or traveling near you. Thanks again for your midwest hospitality, and hopefully we can show you some northwest warmth. The 3 day period of time our family (21 including children) spent at the Gander Inn was truly a delight to everyone involved! Being Canadians, we were hesitant to book in advance, from a distance, but were duly impressed! It so well suited our needs to spend Christmas with Grandma! The Kleins were gracious hosts, enduring the children's rowdiness and providing us with unbelievable meals, arranging bedding and providing toiletries. Thankyou Dave and Trish, the town of Lewellen is blessed to have you! Don & Nancy Standridge 08/09/2011 18:02
It was a wonderful experience. The history of lodge was amazing. The meal was so great and the conversation was so informative. We felt like family. We would be honor to spend more time there in the future. The room was neat and clean. Best of luck in your venture and hope to see you again. Carmen (Blausey) Thomson 10/19/2011 17:17
Dave and Trish were fantastic during our stay this past week. I only wish we had been in the area under better circumstances. Dave was so sweet to make a pancake special order for my son for breakfast. This place will always hold a special place for the Blausey family as my grandmother was an Orr, and I believe John Orr was my great-great grandfather (if I've got the family history correct!). Thanks again...we will definitely be back! Will Wilbanks 02/07/2012 06:41
I could not have asked for more, the great rooms and wonderful food were incredible. But what made the entire trip memorable was Dave and Trish. We spent the entire week hunting in the area around Lewellen, every morning I could count on a warm cup of coffee followed by a delicious breakfast and every night we had a spectacular dinner to look forward to.
