Welcome to The Gander Inn!  Our guests say that we offer excellent hospitality, food and comfort. The Gander Inn offers a gourmet breakfast buffet on weekends as well as a continental breakfast during the week. Evening dining available upon request, please check out our dinner menu on the accommodations page. The only thing you need to do is to let us know when dinner is to be served, and enjoy the weekend at the lake.  Our spacious property allows for gatherings of all occasions. This historic building was first built in 1912 for the Orr family. In 1943 the Orr family donated this home to the city of Lewellen to become a hospital. The main floor was the operating room, then after surgery, patients were carried up stairs for recovery. Room # 7 was a delivery room, there were many children born from 1943 to the late 1960's.
